Preparation and Management of Nutrient Solution
1.Management of Cultivation Season and EC Value
In summer, the nutrient solution concentration (EC value) of fruit and vegetable seedlings is between 1.4~1.6ms/cm, and the EC value of plant growth peak is between 1.6~1.8ms/cm; Spring and autumn are generally between 2.0~2.2ms/cm; In winter (low temperature, high humidity, less light), the concentration should be increased, generally between 2.2~2.5ms/cm. The PH value of most crops can be controlled between 5.5~6.5.
2.Management of Fertility Stage and EC Value
For fruits, the concentration of nutrient solution from seedling stage to crop fruiting should be appropriately lowered, and it should be increased after fruiting. For leaves, the concentration at the seedling stage should be reduced, begin to increase after transplanting, and decrease again before harvest, and the amount of nitrate nitrogen fertilizer should be reduced to reduce nitrate in products.
3.Management of EC Value and PH Value of Root
The range of activity of substrate culture crop roots is small, the buffering of substrate is not as good as that of soil. The EC value and PH value in the substrate around the root change greatly. Generally, the EC value tends to increase in summer and autumn, while it is easy to decrease in winter and spring. The PH value is opposite to EC value. When EC value is high, PH value will decrease, and when EC value is low, PH value will increase. The larger the plant, the more vigorous the absorption, and the greater the change of the concentration and PH in the root. The EC value should be adjusted according to the EC value of the crop root substrate.
Therefore, we should detect the EC value of root substrate every day in summer, and once every 3 to 5 days in winter and spring, so as to grasp the changes of the EC value and PH value of root at any time and take timely control measures.
