Vegetables Substrate Culture
Substrate culture is the main form of soilless culture. As soilless culture has higher requirements on technology and management than soil culture, and more strict regulation on facility environment, it is necessary to elaborate its main technical links, so that production technicians can flexibly respond to and analyze technical problems in production in practice.

1.Requirements for facilities
Root temperature management
The suitable temperature for crop root growth and nutrient absorption is generally between 18~25 °C, and the minimum root substrate temperature is not less than 16 °C, and the maximum should not exceed 28 °C.
Liquid supply facilities
In substrate culture, drip irrigation is generally used for liquid supply, and we think it is better to use hair dropper. The hair dropper with an inner diameter of 0.8~1.2mm is cut into 30~50cm long hair dropper and inserted into the liquid supply branch pipe according to 1~2 pieces of each seedling. The hair dropper near the water source should be longer and the hair dropper can be shorter at a distance to coordinate the uniformity of liquid supply.

2.Requirements for substrate
Water and fertilizer retention
Generally, growing vegetables requires high water and fertilizer retention of the substrate, because vegetables grow fast and demand urgent nutrition and water.
Good air permeability
The air permeability of the substrate directly affects the oxygen supply capacity of crop roots.
Suitable Volume
The bulk density of the substrate is related to its water content, air permeability and root fixation.

Our Tenlead Plant Growing Cube is a growing medium made from phenolic foam. It provides a high quality, sterile and inert root growing environment. Hydroponic growing cube provides from 90%-98% air space in between its fibers while still giving excellent support for the plant. The hydroponic growth cube is sterile and inorganic. Because it does not contain any organic matter, it helps to protect the root zone from harmful microorganisms.
What most important is that it is biodegradable and will completely degrade after a period of time without polluting the environment. Conversely, some products that cannot be decomposed, such as rock wool, will take you a lot of time and cost to handle after planting. We firmly believe that it will be more valuable and expand its market in the future nursery garden work.
