Planting Process
●Eggplants can be grown in hydroponics and the process is quite simple. Hydroponics is a soilless system where plants receive all the necessary nutrients from water. Therefore, the first thing you need is a hydroponic system that is well-suited for growing eggplants.
●The system must have a pH meter to ensure the water's pH level falls around 6.0-7.5, which is suitable for eggplants. The growing container should be wide enough to accommodate the plant's root system and to provide enough room to grow properly. It should also have good drainage to prevent waterlogging and root rot.
●After you have the hydroponic system set up, the next step is to plant the eggplant seeds. Eggplants are typically grown from seeds, and they need a warm temperature of around 70-85°F to germinate. You can start seeds in a tray using moistened soil-free growing medium, such as Tenlead phenolic foam planting cubes. Although eggplants grow well in hydroponics, they require regular maintenance, including pruning and monitoring nutrient levels.
●Eggplants need at least six hours of full sun daily, so the hydroponic system should be situated in a sunny location or under grow lights if indoors. Most eggplants take around 90-120 days to mature, depending on the variety and growing conditions.
