Cultivation substrate

Cultivation substrate is one of the technical focuses of tomato soilless cultivation, and one of the important support for the growth of tomatoes. Made from phenolic foam, our plant growing cube is chemical-free, safe and non-toxic, perfect for precision planting, providing the perfect environment for all your seeds to start and transplant.

Planting

Sow The Seeds. In this step, please put the seeds in the holes. Then put water in the tray until the growing medium and seeds are fully saturated.

Covering the growing medium to keep the seeds in the dark, and waiting for the seeds to germinate. (There is no need to water during this period until its germination.)

After the seeds germinating, expose the seeds in sufficient light, and watering them moderately until the cotyledons grow. (Adjust the amount of water appropriately according to the temperature.)

After the cotyledons growing out, you could add the nutrient to the tray. Normally, you need to adjust the EC value to the range of 800-1000us/cm.

Transplant

When the rhizomes of the seedlings are strong enough, it can be transplanted to the planting trough. In general, the seedlings are strong enough to transplant after 3-4 leaves grow.

Cultivation Management

Post-transplant management is also important, especially light and temperature, generally the suitable growth temperature of tomatoes is 10 to 28 degrees, including 20 to 25 degrees during the day and 10 to 15 degrees at night. Twenty days after transplant, fertilization needs to be applied with each tomato within 15g, and then applied again after fruiting.

In summary, the soilless cultivation is now much more popular than before, as the tomatoes cultivated without soil are of good quality and high yield. And compared with the traditional cultivation, there are less pests and diseases. Our hydroponic  plant growing cubes are light weight and easy to handle, very suitable for the beginner.
