Practical techniques for soilless cultivation of vegetables
How to cultivate vegetables without soil? The nutrient solution in it is easy to control and can be adjusted at any time. Therefore, many vegetable farmers are beginning to adopt the technology to plant vegetables. Today we are going to introduce the key points of vegetable soilless cultivation technology.
1.Select substrate
The substrate should be made of materials with low cost, good air permeability, good performance, firm rooting and strong water retention. Tenlead Plant Growing Cube is a growing medium made from phenolic foam. It provides a high quality, sterile and inert root growing environment. Tenlead Plant Growing Cube provides from 90%-98% air space in between its fibers while still giving excellent support for the plant.
2. Nutrient Solution
In order to make full use of the limited area and equipment and improve the replanting rate, it is necessary to prepare nutrient solutions to supply the growth and development of various vegetables.
The method of preparing the nutrient solution is to put the nutrients into the container, and then add a certain amount of water. The water surface is about 20cm away from the mouth of the container. Then fully stir to make the water and nutrients into a nutrient solution. The concentration of nutrient solution should not exceed 0.2%, and the PH value should be 5.5~6.5. Due to the evaporation of water and the absorption of nutrients by crops, the concentration of nutrient solution and PH value often change, so it should be tested and adjusted frequently, generally once every 7-15d.

3. Watering management
After colonization, nutrient solution can be directly added into the substrate without adding fertilizer. According to the plant size and culture season, water the nutrient solution intermittently, regularly and quantitatively. Less in the early stage, but as the plant grows and the temperature increases, the amount of nutrient solution should also be appropriately increased. Water it 2 to 3 times a day with a watering can. It is advisable to keep the substrate moist, and do not overdo it,so as not to cause root hypoxia and injury.
