Vegetable Plug Seedling

Dec 19, 2022

Vegetable Plug Seedling

Plug seedling is a modern technology that uses substrate to culture vegetables. Plug seedling cultivation has the characteristics of energy saving, labor saving, high efficiency, light substrate weight, strong water holding capacity, high survival rate, which is suitable for long-distance transportation and mechanized transplanting.

Hydroponic Growing Blocks

Substrate selection

Our Tenlead Plant Growing Cube is a growing medium made from phenolic foam. It provides a high quality, sterile and inert root growing environment. Hydroponic growing cube provides from 90%-98% air space in between its fibers while still giving excellent support for the plant.

The hydroponic growth cube is sterile and inorganic. Because it does not contain any organic matter, it helps to protect the root zone from harmful microorganisms.

What most important is that it is biodegradable and will completely degrade after a period of time without polluting the environment. Conversely, some products that cannot be decomposed, such as rock wool, will take you a lot of time and cost to handle after planting. We firmly believe that it will be more valuable and expand its market in the future nursery garden work.

Management technology of plug seedling

1. Place the seed in the tray. Each hole has one seed. Soak it with water. After that, cover the substrate to block the light.

2. The substrate shall be kept moist.

3. Keep spacing between seedlings after budding to ensure their growth.

4. Spray fungicide every 7 days after sprouting.

5.1

Watering frequency

3-5 days after sowing, once every 1-2 days, 90% wet.

Budding stage, once every 1-2 days, 90% wet.

Cotyledon stage, once every 1-2 days, 80% wet.

1 leaf 1 heart, once every 2-3 days, 70% wet.

2 leaves 1 heart, once every 2-3 days, 70% wet.

1 day before transplanting, add water once to reach 75% wet.

When rotten roots appear at the bottom of the tray, it indicates that the substrate is impermeable due to excessive watering. Even if root hair is grown, it will be lost in case of high salt and drought. The loss of root hair will prevent the growth of seedlings. After transplanting, the seedling period will be prolonged, and it is easy to be infected with bacteria and cause root rot.
